Kristin Houston is a retired Senior International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA), where she served for over two decades as a trusted advisor to American businesses pursuing global growth. Based in Orange County, California, her leadership spanned franchise development, export strategy, and international matchmaking, with a keen focus on helping small and mid-sized U.S. companies thrive in overseas markets.

Prior to joining ITA in 1999, Kristin served as Assistant Director of the Export Small Business Development Center, where she provided specialized support to emerging exporters and helped shape trade readiness programs for the region.

A tireless advocate for military-connected families, Kristin is also the founding Vice President of Military Children’s Charity, Inc. (MCC), a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating and empowering U.S. military children through heartfelt gifts, STEM enrichment, and literacy advancement. Since the organization’s founding in 2010, she has played an integral role in program design, donor outreach, and strategic expansion.

Kristin now enjoys retirement after a celebrated career in public service, continuing to support causes close to her heart. She resides in California and remains actively involved in advocacy and volunteer leadership.
