Karen Imfeld
Founding MCC Board Member
Karen is a founding board member of MCC. She was inspired by Isaiah’s desire to recognize and thank military children for their service.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Science from University of California, Irvine in 1985. She currently has a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist license. She has 40 years of immunology research experience.
Karen currently works at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) in the Hematology Research Laboratory. She is specifically interested in the role of genetic background and immune regulation, leading to the ability to identify children predisposed to damage from overactive inflammatory response, autoimmune disease or immune deficiency. Prior to joining CHOC, she worked at UCI where she studied cytokines in autoimmunity.
Karen is a long-term resident of Orange County and involved with multiple charitable causes. Also, in her spare time she enjoys gardening, spending time with family and reading.
